The Marymount Garden Project

Marymount Garden Project aims to create a sanctuary for people to spend cherished moments with their loved ones while finding solace in nature during challenging times.

The project comprises four distinct areas: an arrival garden, a remembrance garden, a wildflower spiral meadow situated on a land-protected fairy fort, and a grove designed for families to gather. Each area has been sensitively considered to ensure a harmonious interaction between people and nature.
The project is a collaboration with local Cork designer Valerie Bond, along with West Cork-based landscaper Colm Cronin. The team said they hope to deliver gardens that will provide serenity and calm for patients, families and staff at the facility.

Artist Open Call :

This year we are inviting 12 artists to help us create something special while we document the on going journey of our Garden Project.
The artists will be invited to respond to our garden as it transforms not just through its man-made rejuvenation but through its natural seasonal cycle.
This is a voluntary opportunity as part of a fundraising project. One final work from each artist will feature in Marymount Garden Project Calendar for the year 2025. This calendar will be sold to the public and all funds raised will be a direct donation to Marymount.
If you are an artist based in Cork, or if you can easily travel Cork, and you are interested in being involved, please send a brief artist bio and up to 5 examples of your work to fundraising@marymount.ie with the subject line: Marymount Garden Open Call.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Marymount Garden project Launch :

The garden at Marymount will be launched at an Open Garden event on the 4th of July 2024. More details to come.

The Friends of Leukaemia :
