Protected Disclosures

At Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, we deeply care about our employees, patients, residents and their families. We believe in fostering an environment of trust, transparency, and accountability. That’s why we are committed to addressing any concerns or issues that may arise within our organisation, including those raised by our employees and workers.

To ensure the highest level of quality and safety, we have implemented a comprehensive system for handling Protected Disclosures, commonly known as whistle blowing. These arrangements have been in place in the health sector since 2009, in accordance with the provisions of the Health Act 2004 (as amended by the Health Act 2007).

Moreover, we strictly adhere to the regulations outlined in the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 (as amended by the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022), which came into effect on 01.01.2023.

To facilitate the reporting of concerns or suspicions, Marymount University Hospital & Hospice has established the Hospitals Protected Disclosures Policy and Internal / External Reporting Channels. We want to assure you that our external reporting channel is managed by an external third party. This ensures that there is an independent avenue where our employees and workers can report any concerns or suspicions with confidence.
