Mr Tony Moloney RIP

It is with a heavy heart that we have been made aware that our former chairman and long-term friend of Marymount University Hospital & Hospice died peacefully on 25th April 2026.

Tony was enormously involved with St. Patrick’s Hospital / Marymount for more than 30 years.  Initially Tony supported both the Sisters of Charity and the Friends of St. Patrick’s / Marymount.  Tony’s commitment to Marymount alongside his significant engineering experience eventually drew him into the legal and business side of Marymount.   Tony willingly became the first Chairman of the Development Committee and then in 1995 he served as the very first Chairman of the Board of Directors.  It was evident that Tony set the scene at Marymount for a culture of compassion, care and excellence from the outset.  At that time St Patricks/ Marymount faced significant challenges but with his guidance and his leadership he confidently navigated a new Board to ensure a strong ethos, good patient care and that challenges could be overcome.   Tony continued to support Marymount for many years including the initiation, design and the vision and ambition that gave rise to a new, much larger hospital and hospice.  We are eternally grateful for Tony’s support and ambition in this regard, which has benefitted so many families since 2011 and will continue to do so into the future.

We extend our sincerest condolences to Eileen and all his family.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. May he rest in peace.
