We are delighted to announce that Marymount has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work in 2022 after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Institute Ireland. The accreditation process is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.
A message from our Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sarah McCloskey:
Marymount’s overarching goal is to deliver exceptional care to those who need it most within a supportive and caring environment. Good standards of care need a transparent, trusting, and inclusive workplace culture and so the Great Place To Work recognition is invaluable in endorsing this. The award highlights our strengths and we look forward to continuing this process to create the best possible workplace for the most dedicated of teams.

Marymount University Hospital & Hospice (Marymount) provides specialist palliative care services and services to care for dependent older people. We are located within a state-of-the-art facility providing specialised and expert care to a population base of 560,000 people.
An independent voluntary hospital governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, Marymount works closely with the statutory health services, is a section 39 organisation under the Health Act 2004, and is a registered charity. Marymount’s origins date back to 1870, with its foundation by the Religious Sisters of Charity in Cork. The original hospital was built on the north side of the city on Wellington Road, and in 2011 the service relocated to a purpose-built, modern, high-quality facility in Curraheen, Co. Cork.
As the specialist palliative care service for Cork city and county, Marymount Hospice serves as a centre for coordinating the delivery of palliative care services across all care settings in Cork. Our services include a 44-bed in-patient unit, a daycare service (day hospice), an out-patient department, community-based services, and bereavement and family support services. For older people, Marymount Hospital provides long-term care, respite, and palliative care support services.
